How to do the BUDWIG PROTOCOL for health problems(especially cancer)

The BUDWIG PROTOCOL (designed by the eminent biochemist/researcher Dr. Johanna Budwig) is a powerful therapy having major health benefits by enhancing EFA delivery to body's cells (by making these electron-rich fats water-soluble) to attract oxygen and increase cellular energy production:

Discussion of BUDWIG PROTOCOL Recipe Ingredients

The main component of the BUDWIG PROTOCOL (as originally proposed by Dr. Johanna Budwig) involves consuming a daily concoction of fresh flaxseed oil properly blended with a proportionate amount of cottage cheese

–    Cottage cheese provides the sulfurated amino acids:methionine and cystine (2 cysteine residues joined by a disulfide (S-S) bond) -which contain sulfur in addtion to carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen and oxygen:

Needed for the chemical reaction with the fatty acids to make them water soluble

Methionine and cystine (provides cysteine) are used to make the body'spowerful “in-house”antioxidant glutathione – produced in the cytosol of every cell, glutathione provides a “Bulls-eye”for oxidation by radicals; glutathione manufacture also requires glycine and glutamate, but cysteine is the rate-limiting factor for its production

Glutathione –“King of the Antioxidants”

Well-known for their ability to attach to and carry out pollutants in the body

More recently yogurtand/or Whey Protein Concentrate is being used as a substitute for cottage cheese – to supply an amount of sulfurated amino acids similar to the amount in the cottage cheese.

Data from USDA Nutrient Database

–   Low fat dairy has a greatersulfurated amino acid content than dairy with higher fat

–    Cottage cheese and yogurt typically available in the Westis made with pasteurized milk which process denaturessulfurated amino acids - As such, a quality Whey Protein Concentrate cold-processed from raw milk may be a better choice (unless you can make your own dairy products using raw milk processed at temperatures no higher than 110 °F, which is still considered to be raw); whey protein is the globular protein isolated from whey and having low lactose content is usually not a problem for those who are lactose intolerant. Also note that whey protein concentrates undergo low-heat processes to remove any microbial presence

A quality Whey Protein Concentrate is:

NOT protein ISOLATES –which are missing nutrients

Made from whey in raw milk from grass-fed animals (preferably organic grass)

Not acid-processed

Whey Protein concentrate has other important health benefits:

Whey protein is a COMPLETE protein – contains all essential amino acids; provides not only cysteine, but also glycine and glutamate amino acids for production of the important antioxidant glutathione to protect watery parts of all cells

Supports immune health / beneficialgut bacteria

Supports joint and muscle health – promoting muscle strength, endurance and recovery

Supports healthy metabolic rate and fat-burning

Other Components of BUDWIG PROTOCOL

In addition to flaxseed oil and sulfurated protein (from cottage cheese, yogurt and/or Whey Protein Concentrate) the BUDWIG PROTOCOL also includes a specific diet, taking the sun and relaxation:

–    Budwig Diet

Excludes the following items (which lower the “battery”voltage in the cells): Sugar; All animal fats (pig-sourced fats are the most deleterious); All meats; Margarine; Butter; Salad dressing oils (Except extra virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar or lemon); Foods high in Preservatives;

Includes:Wild-fish (with fins and scales); as you improve you may add 100% organic grass-fed beef or organic pastured chicken(minimally corn-fed) once or twice a week.

Dr Budwig diet plan available in her cook book – “The Oil Protein Diet Cook Book”, available at for ~ $10.00. Part of the diet includes fresh juices.

Daily Meal Plan for Cancer or other Serious Health Problems

–   Daily time in the sun - in moderation, exposing our bodies to the sun provides us a free, natural energy source taken advantage of since the creation of man. A vital source of energy for the body, the sun's energy photons (“Solar electrons”) are directly received through the eyes and the body's acupuncture points to be absorbed by any sun-derived electrons in the body. Skin cancer was not an issue, until man's diet became devoid of solar energy in the form of undamaged (i.e. not heat-processed) Omega-3 and Omega-6 essential fats. These sun-grown fats end up in our skin (and other) cell membranes, and contain fatty acids with inherent electron clouds that vibrate with and absorb energy from the sun. This energy is then stored until needed by the body.

The “Sunbath”- Vitamin D Therapy

–   Relaxation

–   Attention to emotional well-being – the best “tool”for addressing deep-seated emotional issues, which may actuallybe the root cause of your physical health problem(s) is a simple DIY “tapping”therapy, called:

Meridan Tapping Technique

–   Coffee enema to protect the liver as the body undergoes detoxification (for those with a serious health problem such as cancer –IT IS CANCER NOT A COLD!) - coffee enemas aid elimination of toxic waste from the body by stimulating the waste-filtering liver to secrete its waste into the bile, which expels its contents into the small intestine for eventual removal from the body. A person with advanced cancer undergoing the BUDWIG PROTOCOL is certainly facing a liver full of toxins, including dead and dying cancer cells. Used for over 50 years, there is no better treatment than a coffee enema to enable release and elimination of toxins. Cancer may require up to two coffee enemas / day.

–   Dr. Budwig addedEldi oils to her protocol

As an enemafor those who who were too weak to do the protocol

Excessive amounts of ANTIOXIDANTS counteract the utilization of oxygenation central to the BUDWIG PROTOCOL –therefore do NOT take high dose antioxidant supplements within 90 minutes of consuming BUDWIG PROTOCOL ingredients. Antioxidants consumedinfood or taken in physiological doses are OK, but protocols such as The Rath Cellular Solution and Vitamin C Therapy must be spaced apart from the BUDWIG PROTOCOL.

For Cancer, the additonal components to the BUDWIG PROTOCOL are incorporated in the +CANCER TREATMENT CORE - which should be a part of your cancer protocol

Special considerations

If you are Lactose Intolerant (often a consequence of a lack of beneficial bacteria and enzymes in milk/dairy products, which were destroyed by pasteurization)

Use raw milk and raw milk products if you can get them.

Use goat's milk instead of cow's milk products.

Take the enzyme Lactase with cottage cheese.

Try Nancy's Cottage Cheese - made with lactic cultures.

Make / buy kefir quark (use kefir grains to make kefir, remove grains and strain through muslin)

Feeding tube Application

Thoroghly mix 1 Tbsp. flax oil into ¼Cup organic kefir until oil is no longer visible, then pour into the feeding tube (make sure there is no oil floating on top).

Give throughout the day;
