Food Fat Forms - Tryglycerides and Phospholipids
Triglycerides
The most common form of fat found in food fats and oils. Triglycerides are also the form the body uses to store fat for later use, accounting for 95% of the body's fatty tissue.
A triglyceride (TG) is a combination of 3 fatty acids attached to a glycerol molecule. Usually, at least one of them is a saturated fatty acid.
Phospholipids
A phospholipid is a derivative of a triglyceride with one of its fatty acids replaced by a phosphate group.
GLYCEROL + 2 FATTY ACIDS
Phospholipids are used as structural components of cell and lipoprotein (fat transporter) membranes. Utilizing their water-loving (hydrophilic) heads and water-hating (hydrophobic) tails.
Chronic low-level inflammation (CLII) involved in almost all health problems
"The medical kit of the future"
