Bronchitis
About
Bronchitis refers to inflammation of the large
and medium sized airways (bronchi) in the lungs
Symptoms include: shortness of breath,
coughing up mucus, wheezing and chest discomfort
There are two main types of bronchitis:
Acute bronchitis (a chest cold) - Lasts 1-3 weeks. >90% of ACUTE bronchitis infections are a viral infection.
Chronic bronchitis - Lasts 3 months or more. Constantly irritated / inflamed bronchial airways cause swelling of the
bronchial mucus membrane lining and the formation of mucus, making it harder to
breathe..
