For minor health problems, cleansing the bowel may be all you need to do to regain your health

Who's the Boss?

"I should be in charge" said the brain because we all know that - well - I'm "the brains" around here
"I should be in charge" said the blood, "because I circulate oxygen all over, so without me you'd all waste away."
"I should be in charge, " said the stomach," because I process food and give all of you energy."
"I should be in charge" said the legs, "because I carry the body wherever it needs to go."
"I should be in charge" said the eyes, "because I allow the body to see where it goes."
"I should be in charge, "said the rectum, "Because I'm responsible for waste removal."
All the other body parts laughed at the rectum and insulted him, so in a huff, he shut down - tight!
Within a few days - The brain had a terrible headache The stomach was bloated The legs got wobbly The eyes got watery and the blood was toxic. They all decided that the rectum should indeed be the boss!
Moral of the story?-The a------- is usually in charge!

Are you "going" enough?

Keeping the intestinal contents moving is the first concern to address in any ill health.   A healthy bowel requires at least one, preferably 2 or 3, movements /day. i.e. each new meal should push out the meal from 24 hours earlier. This is easily achieved by ensuring sufficient insoluble fiber and water in the daily diet.

There is absolutely no good reason for you to be having difficulty with your bowel movements!  If you spend a long time in the bathroom straining or waiting for something to happen, there are several ways to easily remedy this:

water droplet
  • Water is of prime importance to having regular bowel movements.   It may be all you need. Aim for 6-8 8oz. glasses / day.

Water - "2/3 of You"

  • Insoluble Fiber does not absorb water and provides a "sweeping brush" in the intestines.  Good food sources of insoluble fiber:
  • Fruit and vegetables (especially their skins) typically provide good insoluble (as well as soluble) fiber sources - Of special note - have a few (3-6) of those time-tested prunes.

Food Fiber - Soluble and Insoluble

  • Ground flax seeds.   Hands down, this author considers that inlcuding these little seeds in your diet is the best way to ensure a sufficiency of both soluble and insoluble fiber and to keep things moving at a gentle pace. Daily consume 3 Tbsp. of ground flax seeds (from 2 1/2 Tbsp whole seeds) mixed with 1 Cup of fluid (e.g. milk or "yogurt milk"). Ground flax seeds also provide much needed omega-3, and its superlatively high lignan (phytoestrogen) content very effectively controls hormonal balance (especially during menopause). Including flaxseed in your daily diet is a "no-brainer" to maintain health and avert many common health problems of today - such as cancer, heart disease, diabetes . . . and on the subject of intestinal health - you will never have to worry about getting colon cancer!

Clean out the pipes

To prepare for a detoxification therapy.  It may be necessary to have a series of colonic wash-outs, do a herbal intestinal cleanse or use any of the oxidative cleanses available.

Examples include:

  • Coffee Enema - best method to cleanse both the  colon and the liver
  • Senna.  Very effectively increases peristaltic movements of the colon by irritating the colonic mucosa, which serves to loosen and eliminate impacted feces
  • Intestinal Cleanse with Magnesium Oxide

How to use magnesium oxide to cleanse small intestines and colon

Magnesium oxide has been used for over a century in naturopathic medicine as a safe natural laxative to cleanse the entire digestive tract with oxygen. Gentle and non habit forming, some say cleansing with magnesium oxide for one week is like having a colonic, plus it cleans the small intestine, which a colonic does not. It is claimed to remove impacted food matter, heavy metals, and anaerobic pathogens by dissolving the waste build-up. Supposedly, it is used by NASA to detoxify astronauts'digestive tracts in preparation for outer space. Proprietary blends with magnesium oxide are found under such brands as: Colozone, Oxy-Cleanse, Aerobic Mag 07, Colosan, and Homozon, but these tend to be expensive.

How often to do cleanse?

  • To cleanse entire digestive tract - Take first thing in the morning and last thing at night for 1 week;
  • For maintenance - use it one time per week.

Instructions for using Magnesium Oxide

  • Drink an 8oz glass of water (room temperature) - mixed with 1 level tsp Magnesium Oxide
  • Immediately drink the juice of 1/2 a fresh lemon (the catalyst to activate the oxygen in the stomach) - diluted with 2 to 4 ounces of water
  • Take Magnesium Oxide on an empty stomach and wait 90 minutes before eating
  • Access to a bathroom is advised after each serving! - It will create a watery bowel movement which indicates it is working. It is not a sickness type of diarrhea - Any magnesium based laxative works by the body drawing water into the bowel to flush out the excess magnesium you consumed. Some oxygen is also released into the body. You MUST DRINK EXTRA WATER to replenish the water used!
  • If your reaction to the cleanse is too much for you cut down the amount of magnesium oxide taken.
  • Take any other medicine and magnesium oxide at least 2 hours apart

Skin

Your skin is an important elimination channel which is often overlooked and its function can be enhanced by unblocking your skin pores - via:

  • Skin brushing
  • Sauna
